What to check before applying
- Read the vacancy’s nature de l’emploi, category and eligibility. State, territorial and hospital public services have different recruitment contexts; the notice identifies the route that applies.
- For a contract application, use the documents and contact or portal named in the advert. For a concours, read its separate notice and check whether it is external, internal or a third competition. A territorial concours may give access to a grade or eligibility list; successful candidates generally still need to apply for an employer vacancy. Check registration, supporting-document and examination dates separately. Professional-promotion examinations and INET training admission have their own requirements.
- Check qualification equivalence and any professional authorisation for the role. Do not assume that all public jobs require French nationality or that every published vacancy accepts an applicant who is not already an official.
