The Faculty of Law at the University of Turku invites applications for a position as Professor in Business Regulation (endowed professorship) for a fixed term of five years.

Job description

Professor

• conducts and supervises scientific research • provides teaching based on this research • participates in university community and administrative tasks • actively participates in the activities of the scientific community and social interaction

The position is intended for a researcher of high international standing. The Professor will focus on research and teaching in the field of new EU business regulation, including, for example, the regulation of finance, sustainability, digital services, digital markets, data-driven business, and industrial activities. The Professor will advance innovative research in the field, provide evidence-based knowledge to businesses and policymakers, and educate future experts and leaders to understand and navigate the complex landscape of EU regulation.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will have

• a relevant doctoral degree, • strong evidence of high-level, international, and active scientific research and publishing in the field of business regulation, • diverse teaching and supervision experience, • willingness to shift their research focus toward the study of financial regulation, • active participation in collaboration and leadership roles within the scientific community, as well as in public discourse, • experience in university community and administrative tasks, and • experience in applying for supplementary research funding

In the evaluation of applicants, particular importance will be attached to the quality, internationality, and innovativeness of the applicant's scientific research, the connections between the applicant's research work and the research and focus areas of the faculty, and the applicant's ability to strengthen the faculty's research profile, build new and developing research areas, and produce high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Research experience in financial regulation will be considered a particular merit.

Emphasis is also placed on the networks and research funding brought by the applicant, internationality, the societal impact of the research, and connections and impact on working life.

The faculty's teaching needs are also taken into account in the selection process.

Salary and trial period

Salary is determined in accordance with the salary system for teaching and research staff at universities (YPJ). The exact salary will be determined when the employment contract is drawn up.

The position has a trial period of six months.

Turun yliopiston oikeustieteellisessä tiedekunnassa julistetaan haettavaksi lahjoitusvaroin rahoitettu liiketoimintasääntelyn professorin tehtävä viiden vuoden määräajaksi.

Tehtävänkuvaus

Professori

• harjoittaa ja ohjaa tieteellistä tutkimustyötä • antaa siihen perustuvaa opetusta • osallistuu yliopistoyhteisöllisiin ja hallinnollisiin tehtäviin • osallistuu aktiivisesti tiedeyhteisön toimintaan ja yhteiskunnalliseen vuorovaikutukseen

Tehtävään haetaan korkean kansainvälisen tason tutkijaa. Professori keskittyy EU:n uuden liiketoimintasääntelyn (esimerkiksi rahoituksen, kestävyyden, digitaalisten palveluiden, digitaalisten markkinoiden, dataliiketoiminnan ja teollisen toiminnan sääntelyn) tutkimukseen ja opetukseen. Professori edistää alan innovatiivista tutkimusta, tarjoaa tutkittua tietoa yrityksille ja päättäjille sekä kouluttaa tulevaisuuden asiantuntijoita ja johtajia ymmärtämään ja hallitsemaan EU-sääntelyn monimutkaista kenttää.

Etsimämme henkilö

Tehtävään otettavalta edellytetään

• soveltuvaa tohtorin tutkintoa, • näyttöä korkeatasoisesta ja aktiivisesta tieteellisestä tutkimus- ja julkaisutoiminnasta EU:n liiketoimintasääntelyn alalla, • monipuolista opetus- ja ohjauskokemusta, • valmiutta suunnata tutkimusprofiiliaan rahoituksen sääntelyn tutkimuksen suuntaan, • aktiivista osallistumista tiedeyhteisön yhteistyöhön ja vastuutehtäviin sekä yhteiskunnalliseen keskusteluun, • kokemusta yliopistoyhteisöllisistä ja hallinnollisista tehtävistä, • kokemusta täydentävän tutkimusrahoituksen hakemisesta

Hakijoiden arvioinnissa annetaan erityisesti merkitystä hakijan tieteellisen tutkimuksen laadulle, kansainvälisyydelle ja innovatiivisuudelle, hakijan tutkimustyön yhteyksille tiedekunnassa tehtävään tutkimukseen ja painopistealueisiin sekä hakijan kyvylle vahvistaa tiedekunnan tutkimusprofiilia, rakentaa uudenlaisia, kehittyviä tutkimusaloja ja tuottaa korkeatasoisia vertaisarvioituja julkaisuja. Näytöt rahoituksen sääntelyn tutkimuksesta katsotaan erityiseksi ansioksi.

Myös hakijan mukanaan tuomille verkostoille ja tutkimusrahoitukselle, kansainvälisyydelle sekä tutkimuksen yhteiskunnalliselle vaikuttavuudelle, työelämäyhteyksille ja -vaikuttavuudelle annetaan painoarvoa.

Valinnassa otetaan huomioon myös tiedekunnan opetukselliset tarpeet.

Palkkaus ja koeaika

Professorin palkka perustuu yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmään (YPJ). Täsmällinen palkka määräytyy työsopimusta laadittaessa.

Tehtävässä noudatetaan kuuden kuukauden koeaikaa.
