Job description

We are looking for two dedicated and academically strong student instructors to support fellow history students working independently on digital projects in relevant courses like Kildenært emne or BA-projects. The support will take place through a hacky hour study café in the library/Nobelsalen, two hours a week (usually Friday 12-14 or 14-16; 26 hours in total). The Hacky Hour Study Café is meant to support the use of tools introduced in DAM in other courses and student projects.

Employment period 1 February – 31 May 2027.

Responsibilities

As a student instructor, you will:

• Help students contextualize and apply the tools (Voyant, Transkribus, R, OpenRefine, regex, spreadsheets and their Ucloud variants) introduced in DAM to new projects.

• Assist with troubleshooting their machines and support their understanding of core concepts.

• Guide students in working on their own project.

• Demonstrate best digital practices and foster the development of computational thinking.

• In short: “Teach students how to fish – and occasionally hand out a free fish.”

We expect that you:

• Have completed the DAM or similar course with good results.

• Are interested in teaching and motivated to help others understand complex topics.

• Are patient, approachable, and able to communicate technical material in an accessible way.

We offer:

• A stimulating and rewarding student job where you strengthen both your academic and teaching skills.

• An inspiring learning environment where you can make a real difference for your fellow students.

Please contact Kathrine Juul Svejstrup [email protected] for more information about the position.

A prerequisite for employment is that the applicant is an actively enrolled student. Employment is subject to the availability of the necessary funding.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application within four weeks of the application deadline.

Application

Please upload a short motivated application and your CV.
